About Me

Savoring the Word of God is the personal blog of Cory Barnes. Cory is currently pursuing a PhD in Old Testament at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelors of Arts in Religion and Philosophy from Shorter University. He is the author of From Creed to Canon: An Examination of the Influence of Creedal Language on the Transmission of the New Testament Text, which is being prepared for publication by Borderstone Press. Cory is blessed to be the husband of Kayla and the proud Father of Zoey. Their family is passionate about mission work and growing healthy, biblical churches. Cory enjoys backpacking, canoeing, baseball, and great books.
